You reach a certain point in your life where the reality that this blessing called life is in fact quite short. The weight of this realization hits you like a ton of bricks. Suddenly all of the bullshit in life, (negative energies, dumb drama, stupid games, silly worries, shallow interactions etc.) really lose their power over you. You realize you don’t have time for it; the bullshit. And so you start downsizing. Your circle becomes smaller. Your worries become less… You have more time for the people and things you really want in life. And most importantly, you have more time for yourself.
For some, this sudden state of awareness comes earlier in life. For others, it comes later; and I think it is safe to say that some people just never get it at all, and will live each day of their lives with what I would call an immature mindset. An egocentric existence that thrives on drama and manipulation.
You read that and think “Pshhh. Fuck that, I don’t have time for that bullshit.” And you don’t. Until you cross paths with someone who plays those stupid games. Then you catch yourself playing too, in order to survive the bullshit. The manipulations and pettiness eventually get to you one way or another. The things that you desperately try to ignore become harder to ignore. Taking the high road constantly, becomes exhausting for the soul. Patience starts wearing thin. Before you know it, those negative energies and dumb drama and silly worries and stupid games get under your skin and yank you back down to the level you don’t want to be at; the level you worked so hard to move up from.
It’s like a Mario Nintendo game. You bump in to Bowser or some of his minions a few too many times and boom… Game over. Right back to square one. All of that progress out the window. And it’s fucking hella frustrating.
So time to hit the restart button, yet again. Take the lessons learned from the previous game played to get you to an even higher level than you were at before. Recognize where you may have stumbled, and figure out a better strategy. Remember where those minions are hiding at. Remember their moves; their motives. Learn them so that you can spot them before they get to you. Remember what the fuck you are fighting for and what you are trying to protect; yourself and your peace of mind. And never forget that the Bowsers of the world can absolutely be defeated as long as you are prepared to win.
