The World is feeling rather chaotic at the moment. I sit here and think back about what things were like a year ago. We were all locked down. The World was trying to figure out what to do and how to battle this invisible disease that had quickly become common Enemy #1 for all nations of the World. The future for humankind was very uncertain. Yet strangely, I feel like everything was calmer then than it is today. We all had a common enemy and we all had a common goal; to get through this.
Now, the World is slowly opening back up and there very much is an “every man for himself” feeling in the air. Here in the U.S., with the CDC recently announcing that vaccinated individuals can be in certain places and not have to wear a mask, there is a whirlwind of confusion it seems. Even though the CDC has said this, there are different rules around the country regarding the mask mandate depending on what State you are in. Of course we still have to wear masks at airports etc. which seems totally reasonable to me. The pandemic isn’t over quite yet. Each state seems to have slightly different guidelines as well which apparently is confusing to certain individuals. I personally look at it like there are 50 different countries in our country and if you feel so inclined to travel domestically, you should simply look up the local rules regarding the Pandemic for whatever State you may be heading to, just as you would (or should) when you travel outside of the country.
So this morning as I read the Sunday news I came across a video that some lesser known “actor” posted of himself at a Costco here in California, filming one of the greeters at the front door, questioning why he isn’t being allowed in and questioning why he needs to wear a mask inside since the CDC made their announcement earlier in the week, and complaining about “the Tyranny” in this country. With the poor employee merely doing his job to earn a dollar, this D-list actor insists that everyone boycott Costco. So I go ahead and check this guys social media page out and all I see is a bunch of bullshit and complaints about having to wear a mask. He has posted a letter that he received from TSA warning him of his actions at LAX airport last month, stating that his refusal to comply with the mask mandate could result in a 13k fine but they have decided to let him off with a warning. And this guy has the audacity to bitch bitch bitch about it and contaminate the precious air that we breathe with his toxicity. This guy has the audacity to compare the mask mandate in the state of California to how the Jews were treated by Fascists. “The Tyranny in this country!” “Recall Newsom!” “Our freedom is being stripped away from us!” All of this bitching about wearing a mask and “our freedom being taken away” while bombs are dropping in Palestine and killing innocent children. Like, REALLY MOTHERFUCKER?? MASKS are your biggest problem? What about the classic “No Shoes No Shirt No Service” policy? Shoes and shirts are far more expensive than masks. Is that classic rule Tyranny? Is that classic rule “An assault on our freedom?” This is a serious question for any and all people who claim the mask mandate is Tyranny and an assault on our freedom.
I am disgusted beyond belief by the ridiculous number of ADULTS complaining about having to wear a mask. I would think children would be the ones to complain more about it but I have found in the last year that I haven’t come across one child who has bitched about wearing a mask. Only adults. And for these adults complaining right now, I have a few words. If you are a resident of California or any other state that has a mask mandate and you consider this an assault on your freedom, kindly fuck off and move to another state. If you are a tourist visiting California or any other state that still has mask mandates being implemented and you have an issue with it, FUCK OFF and go home. If you are an ADULT and you are out here harassing employees and boycotting businesses who have been there for all of us during this Pandemic because you really think your freedom is being taken away from you, FUCK THE FUCK OFF, TAKE YOUR ASS HOME AND GO SLAP YOURSELF. Of all of the things in the world that an ADULT could complain about, wearing a mask should be extra extra low on the list, if even on the list at all.
What has happened to humanity? Are there really that many selfish, entitled people out there in the World? This mask “issue” has sadly become a “political issue”. The Right has long been saying the Left complains about every little thing because they go out and protest against things like racial injustice and other issues that truly impact humanity and our world in a negative way. Yet here the Right is, complaining about wearing a mask during a pandemic. Something that has helped save lives, helped control the spread of the virus, something that is GOOD, is just so bad in these peoples eyes. How selfish can a person be? It all boils down to the ego. These people complaining about their freedom being taken away are thinking of themselves and only themselves. Their egos won’t allow them to look at the bigger picture. Their egos won’t allow them to see that the mask mandates have been put in place to try and solve a worldwide HEALTH ISSUE, not to take away an individuals freedom. They have put their egos above their consciences. How can an individual (and one preaching the word of God on social media, at that) go to one of the largest, busiest airports in the World without a mask on KNOWING that all around the World you need to wear a mask at an airport, and then go on social media blasting the airport and play the victim? What the FUCK did the guy expect? I think that he should be fined the 13k just for posting the TSA letter and complaining after he got let off with a warning. White privilege at it’s finest (or worst?)
In conclusion I would just like to say this. If you are an adult currently huffing and puffing and ranting and raving because you have to wear a mask and I hear you, I promise you that you will hear me. Stop complaining about nothing. Stop being so fucking selfish and ignorant. Stop playing victim of an imaginary crime when there are REAL victims of REAL crimes out there. Respect the motherfucking rules and wear your damn mask until the State says otherwise. Period.
